DYNAMIC MOVEMENT INTERVENTION (DMI)Encouraging motor development and progress towards meaningful milestones.
Dynamic Movement Intervention (DMI) is a specialised, hands-on therapeutic approach designed to support children with motor delays and challenges in their gross motor development.
At Playfit Therapy, DMI is used to encourage the development of foundational movement skills through carefully selected and progressively challenging exercises. Using targeted positioning, handling and movement activities, children are encouraged to actively respond to movement challenges, supporting improvements in strength, balance, coordination, postural control and motor development.
DMI aims to promote more independent and functional movement, supporting children to work towards important milestones such as sitting, standing, transitioning and walking. Sessions are tailored to each child's individual abilities and developmental needs, providing opportunities to build confidence and develop meaningful movement skills.
